Clinical Supervision — Fields of Hope Counselling

Fields of Hope Counselling

Clinical Supervision

Telehealth Counselling & Supervision  |  Sydney, NSW, Australia

Reflective, rigorous, genuinely collegial clinical supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists at every career stage — individual or group, fully online, Australia-wide.

Is This For You?

You might be newly qualified, carrying the weight of your first clients and wondering if you're getting it right. You might be experienced, but working alone — without a space to think out loud, question your blind spots, or simply be witnessed in the work. You might be looking for someone who understands the particular complexity of working with trauma, grief, faith, or cross-cultural clients — because that's where your caseload lives too.

Or you might just know that good supervision isn't a box to tick. It's part of how you stay a good clinician.

The Supervision Approach

Supervision at Fields of Hope Counselling draws on two complementary frameworks — one giving structure, the other giving flexibility.

The RISE UP Model

Dr Phil Armstrong's RISE UP model provides the backbone — a comprehensive process that ensures nothing clinical, ethical, personal, or practical falls through the cracks over the life of a supervisory relationship.

R
Review — following up on prior sessions, risk, and client progress
I
Information — the administrative and record-keeping foundations of ethical practice
S
Support — the counselling skills you're bringing to your own clients
E
Education — goal-setting, professional development, and clinical rationale
U
Self-Care — because a depleted counsellor can't sustain good practice
P
Private Practice & Business Building — the often-overlooked commercial side of a sustainable career

The Six Supervisory Spaces

Layered onto this is Hewson and Carroll's model of the six supervisory spaces — Reflective, Directive, Evaluative, Passive, Restorative, and Active. Rather than applying a single supervisory style regardless of what's needed, this model allows supervision to move fluidly between modes — matching how support is given to what the moment actually calls for. Together, these frameworks mean supervision that's structured enough to be genuinely thorough, and responsive enough to never feel like a box-ticking exercise.

Individual vs Group Supervision

Individual Supervision

Depth and privacy — the space for the case that feels too exposing to bring to a room of peers, at the pace that suits your specific caseload. 60 minutes via Zoom.

Group Supervision

Multiple perspectives on a single case, the relief of shared experience, and genuine professional community. 120 minutes, capped at 6 supervisees. One individual session required before joining a group.

Note
All new supervisees wishing to join group supervision must first complete at least one individual session with Delaney. This ensures a safe, trusting group environment for everyone.
